its TIIIIIIIIMEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy Jolabokaflod if you celebrate.
It may be December 23rd, or probably December 24th when I post this in approx. an hour (it is 10:57pm currently), but I have yet to post a festive movies, music and book guide, so here we go.
Life updates: I had the worst week of my life last week, but the week before break is always hell on earth (not including the fact that my December SAT was a 1380 compared to my August 1460... talk about a downgrade). I also had to throw on some pants and run out of my house today because nobody in my family knew that I had a driving hour until the car was literally sitting outside my house for 8 minutes. Throughout this absolutely necessary weekend, I have already finished two books (go me) and would like to recommend some festivities to people like me who hate Will Ferrell and would rather sit in complete silence for 2 hours than watch another second of that godawful movie ELF.
- A Christmas Carol
- The Wood at Midwinter (cannot vouch - haven't read - trust Jack Edwards?)
- The list ends there. I am such a chronic mood reader that I refuse to buy any books that are remotely seasonal.
Movies:
- The Polar Express
- Possibly horrifying, intensely nostalgic movie that I may not have watched in years, but still it transports me right back to drinking watery "hot chocolate" on my first-grade teacher's carpet while someone's getting yelled at to take their fingers out of their mouth. Truly my peak.
- Little Women
- Exclusively Christmas? Maybe not. I don't care. Every season is for Little Women.
- Love Actually
- My mom's favorite. Horrible movie, but Thomas Brodie-Sangster carries.
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's for all the "taxation without representation" Brits) Stone
- I didn't grow up with Harry Potter, but I still love the Christmassy vibes of this movie. Might shift. I'm kidding.
- The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
- Saw an ad for it when I was eight, and trust it looked good.
- Home Alone
- Classic movie that probably didn't need to be on this list because if you have made it to December 24th WITHOUT watching it that would be more impressive.
- The Thundermans
- S2E10 (better than the actual A Christmas Carol. In this essay...)
- Dash and Lily
- Every episode. If you haven't gotten on this grind, do it
- Liv and Maddie
- S1E10, S2E7, S3E9, S4E6
- Fresh Off the Boat
- S2E10, S4E10, S5E8
- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
- S6E12 (a strong favorite of my friend Emmy)
- Brooklyn-99
- S1E11
- Victorious
- S3E1
- Phoebe Bridgers' Christmas EP "So Much Wine" (with Paul Mescal backup vocals)
- Bleachers' "Merry Christmas, Please Don't Call"
- Phoebe bridgers' "Sidelines"
- Conan Gray's "Holidays"
- Taylor Swift's "'Tis the Damn Season"
- Phoebe Bridgers' cover "Friday I'm In Love"
- Lindsey Stirling + Sabrina Carpenters' cover "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch"
- Taylor Swift's "Snow On The Beach"
